Coordinator: Erika Padilla
Patients seen: 7
The morning of Saturday April 6th, we had our quarterly clinic trip to serve the orphanage Casa Hogar Manantial De Esperanza AC in Rosarito, Mexico. We had a total of 7 volunteers and had 1 provider also volunteer with us. We had a total of 2 cars that left the Stein parking lot at 8am. We arrived at the orphanage at around 9am. While the psychiatrist had consults with the children, the public health team worked with a total of 18 kids to provide English lessons in various age groups, arts and crafts activities, and play games. With 1 psychiatrist, we were able to see 7 patients in total before leaving at 1:00pm. We all ate a taco shop in Tijuana until 2:40pm and then left for the San Ysidro border crossing. At the border, the wait took about 1 hour, and we all arrived at campus around 5:00pm.
