December 15th Clinic Trip Sign-ups

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all ready to do great on finals if you have any.

We will be holding our next clinic/fiesta trip on Saturday, December 15th. Please note that you must have a valid US passport or green card in order to attend. We will be holding a MANDATORY pre-clinic meeting for those chosen to attend on Friday, December 14th at 6pm, and meeting on Saturday at 7am for the full day trip.

In order to provide the best opportunities, priority is given to to most active members. Please note that priority will also be given to drivers, and some fluent Spanish speakers, however anyone interested is encouraged to apply.

Oh yes, and we will be having our FIESTA!!! We will be getting a pinata so don’t forget to practice! Also we will be distributing stuffed animals and clothing donations, so don’t forget to donate any extra clothes you may have.

You will receive an e-mail letting you know if you were chosen by next Sunday.

Pharmacy: We took new inventory and things are getting nicer and more organized.

Vitals: Need to buy more tips for the ear temperature machine.

Seminars: Public Health presentation about diabetes went well and the poster look great.

GBM week 9! Monday, Nov 26

Our second GBM of the quarter will be Monday of 9th week 8:30-9:30 PM @ the Dolores Huerta Room.

In addition to updates on the state of the clinic, upcoming events, and our clinic trips, we will be teaching everyone how to do vitals and how to take blood samples on actual people!

GBM’s are worth a clinic point, bring your (or even better, your family’s!) Ralphs card to this event in order to get an additional clinic point by registering your card in person at the GBM!

Please note that priority will also be given to drivers, fluent Spanish speakers, and those chosen to attend the previous cancelled clinic trip; however anyone interested is encouraged to apply.

Want to donate to our club at NO COST to you? Help us raise funds to run our clinic by designating us as your community contribution for every time you’re shopping at Ralphs!

Steps:
1) Go to http://ralphs.com
2) Click on “sign in” or “create an account”
3) Go to “account settings” and “community rewards” to list “Flying Samaritans at UCSD” as your community contribution.
4) Turn in a receipt listing “Flying Samaritans at UCSD” as your beneficiary at the bottom in person, or scan a copy to secretary Amy Phan to earn a clinic point.

That’s it! You earn a small percentage of your receipt for us every time you make a purchase at no money out of your pocket!

1st GBM! Wednesday 10/17, 8pm at the Green Table room

We will be having our first GBM of the school year at the PC West Green Table Room at 8PM (this is in sun god lounge, above PC theatre).  There will be FREE PIZZA and a guest speaker, Dr. Rajasekaran!  Come learn what we’re about, see our speaker, enjoy some free food and learn what it is to be a Flying Sam. We look forward to meeting you all!

Clinic Trip Sign-ups – October 20, 2012

Hello everybody!

We will be holding our next clinic trip on Saturday, October 20th. In order to provide the best opportunities for our most active members, participation in 2 of the following events will be required to attend the clinic.

EVENTS:

GBM #1 on 10/17 (There will be free pizza!)

Be a paid member – $25 (We are starting a new year so everyone needs pay for membership )

Hiking Social

Sign up for Ralphs card donations

Help us tabling on library walk

If you can attend at least 2 events by the 20th and have a valid US passport we encourage you to apply!  Apart from event attendance, people who are able to drive or who are fluent Spanish speakers will also be given priority.
